Goodbye 2006!
’Twas the year of the baby
and where we began
was a place where Bry studied;
a far away land.
Warsaw was cold but we enjoyed our small home.
Feeding the birds in a park where we often would roam.
Speaking Polish together,
We lived as ex-pats.
Ola enjoyed her home land
with its familial chats.
In March we learned that there’d be an adjustment:
Bryan and Ola, and yes an amendment.
As the summer concluded
Bloomington became home.
We prepared for the future.
Our life was a poem.
The third year of law school would keep Bryan busy.
And lucky for us, Ola was not even dizzy.
After a healthy nine months
plus twenty three hours,
a baby boy joined our family,
Grandmas there holding flowers!
The name had been picked and the blessing ratified:
Olivier Preston Hemming, his parents’ prayers gratified.
A happy family of three,
united in love,
growing up and together
as we look up above.
With all our love,
Bryan, Ola, and Ollie

It's a great overview! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's fun when you can see everything that you;ve done. When you add a new member it makes it so special! This was our fist year with no baby. Kai had barely started walking at this time. Crazy how a year flies by but days can drag!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat poem! You're little guy isn't so little anymore! I can't believe how quickly he's changing!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteAwesome poem, Ola!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the comments here: it's fun to read the overview of your year.
And congrats on such a fun addition!
