Lately Olivier managed to climb like this in his crib, which concerned Bry and I a little bit...
So what did we do? We lowered the mattress in his crib
and enjoy his every success that he has in his life... :)

And this is Ollie's new face that I caught on camera... :) (he does it pretty much all the time now, especially when he's proud of himself)

He also likes to fall asleep with his bottle and sleep on his side, which I think is adorable...
He's grown so much... :)

Yesterday, as a part of FHE, our little fam went to swim. Ollie enjoyed it even more than the last time when we went with my friend Maureen and her baby girl Mimi.
On top of it Ollie dived a couple of times, which was pretty cool. And he didn't even cry or anything... :)

I also parked our car in the right spot all by MYSELF and I was really happy about that -- on top of being VERY proud, of course... :)

So yesterday was really FUN...
And today looks like it, too, because it started like this thanks to Ollie, who crawled to our TV that we have in the bedroom and watched it for a little bit... :)

HAPPY HAPPY FIRST NAMEDAY OLLIE!!!

That's the Peach - A - Berry Cobbler I made to celebrate Ollie's FIRST Nameday!
It was really YUMMY and we really liked it -- that was the first time I used mixed berries in it! :)

Also to celebrate this special day we decided to go for a nice walk, but the rain caught us in the middle and we had to wait a little till it stopped.

We still enjoyed it a lot, explaining to Olivier the rain and the whole thunder -- lightening stuff, so the time was definitely NOT waisted! :)

Plus, Ollie seemed to have a lot of fun, too, which is another pro... :)
Now, he's in bed, dreaming about his FIRST B-day in a couple of months, while me and Bry are just hangin' out... :)

MY TWO ADORABLE BOYS

These are some of the pictures I took of Olivier and his Daddy today, before Traci invited us to Olive Garden and before I went to work.
These are precious and I must say that no one makes Ollie laugh harder and louder than Bry... :)

On the last pic, that some of you might notice,
Ollie has the residue of peaches baby food by his nose that I didn't wipe well enough -- Ollie doesn't like to have his face clened, so he turns away anytime I try,
which makes the whole thing even harder... :)

Yesterday Bry and I had to do laundry -- it was high time, since we missed a couple of weeks and basically had NOTHING to wear -- so while waiting for laundry to be done at Traci's (she has our washer and dryer, since we have no hook ups in our apartment) we decided to go for a walk. Unfortunately, I didn't take a stroller and I didn't want Bry to go back to our place, so we put him in our little carier that I DID take... :)

I felt pregnant again and trust me, I do NOT want to go back to that state -- eventhough I loved it once... :) But I treated it as a GREAT work out and was grateful for that... :)
Later that night I went to church and played volleyball again and I must say that my arms aren't covered in bruises, which made me happy! Plus, I won't have to explain at work what happened... :)
Today I'm working on my nails -- hopefully -- and hand wash laundry --
NOT fun! :)

TENNIS BOY

So, as you all know, Bry and I are playing tennis every morning for the past couple of weeks and we take Olivier along with us...
And most of the time Olivier sits in the stroller, watching cars passing by on the street not too far away from the tennis court, or he watches us play...
Unless it's a complaining day... Like today... :(
Then he wants our tennis racquets and when he finally gets them he's happy and proud of his little accomplishment... :)

But if his holding the racquet time is up, he gets pretty frustrated and mad...

And then, most days, that's tthe time to go for a walk, which Ollie enjoys a LOT...Then it's time for him to explore and play with his hands or occasionaly check on us and see what we're up to... :)

And today, as we were on our daily walk by the tennis court, two women with their dogs (they are always walking their dogs when we're playing) said:
"Oh, it's a tennis boy."
That's why I decided to call my post that way... :)

Also, I noticed that I missed pretty much 4 days of blogging, which is really sad, but as I was thinking what to put on it, nothing came to my mind immadiately, plus I didn't have any cute pics and I was working a LOT, so I was tired and lazy at the same time, so I'll try to write what I was doing for the past 4 days... :)

MONDAY
Morning passed by just like every other morning -- tennis, walk, getting ready, etc.
Then we invited Traci to lunch -- we went to Longhorn.
After that I went straight to work (eventhough it was my day off), becuse Deanna's mom had 2 heart attacks within 12 hours.
So, as you can tell, I just couldn't say no.
And when I came home at 9.30, I just wasn't in the mood anymore to blog...

TUESDAY
Tennis, walk, getting ready.
Cleaning (just a little, nothing major), grocery shopping -- we were OUT of food (ours and Ollie's), cooking pink pasta (SUPER yummy, SUPER fast and SUPER easy recipe), tanning (finally, after 2 weeks of not going), taking care of Ollie -- almost all day and at the end of the day, while watching American Idol, preparing Sharing Time lesson with Juliana (about the Restoration of the Gospel).
No time to blog whatsoever... :(

WEDNESDAY
We started the day with the super short tennis game and walk,
since I had to be at work at 9.15.
After work we ate and it was pretty much time for me to go to Joni to help her move out -- Jay, Mason and her are leaving for Florida this Saturday morning.
So we said our goodbyes and I just have to point out that I really HATE that part...
When we got home, Bry and I put Olivier to bed and went to the living room to watch the finals of American Idol and season finale of Lost...
ZERO energy to blog... :(
THURSDAY
I'm BACK!!! :)

MY AMAZING NAMEDAY!!!

Yesterday was my Nameday… It was a VERY special day, partly because it’s A Nameday and partly because Bry took such a great care of me… :)

And this year my special day started early, because after our tennis game on Thursday, Bry told me to get ready SUPER fast, which I did without murmuring!!!
And then took me to Circle Center Mall, where they have H&M store – which happens to be my favorite store!!!
And I got my white dressy jacket that I wanted for such a long time and three tank tops that cover my “underwear” perfectly, so I can even wear very light shirts, etc… So this whole trip was so so so nice!!! And successful! :)

Also Bry babysat Ollie all evening, while I was playing volleyball at church with other women from the ward and it was SO much fun, that I didn’t expect at all.
On top of that, it happened to be a GREAT work out – everything hurts even today – not mentioning my bruised forearms and knuckles! :)

Then on Fiday, after work we ordered my favorite take out food – Bajio Mexican Grill – and relaxed by the TV, which maybe doesn’t sound like something extremely special, but after 8 hours of work, that was exactly what I needed! :)

Also, Bry didn’t forget to take me and Ollie for a walk and he knows how much I appreciate stuff like that…

On top of that a bunch of people called me and send me text messages or simply stopped by my work and wished me Happy Nameday, which was an additional treat to me! :)

Today was a work day and passed by really fast and nothing too exciting happened, maybe because one thing…
Ollie’s READY to crawl! I think it might happen any day now.
He gets on his four a LOT and rocks and he sleeps like this VERY often!

Yesterday was a BIG day!
Bry turned 26!!! :)
So for the next couple of months -- till August 27th -- we're the same age, which will be a nice change! :)

We started the day with a great tennis game with Ollie and then headed home for the nice breakfast and opening the presents from me and Olivier, after which Bry had to go and do some research for his former professor, who he's seeing RIGHT NOW! :(

Then, due to the weather conditions -- pretty cold -- we decided to have a little picnic...
AT HOME!!! I know it sounds kind of funny, but we had everything ready for it and NO good weather AND the baby... :)

After the picnic we went to do some Birthday shopping, since a lot of the stuff on Bry's list I couldn't find (cords for his iPod that he can plug in to TV and watch movies from his iPod on TV) or simply wasn't sure what colors to choose (for his t-shirts or shorts)...
We had a really good time and I must say that Bry had a really good time (he was SUPER excited about his cords), which is RARE -- if it comes to shopping for his clothes!!! :)

Then we went to Texas Roadhouse, which we didn't visit in a very long time and it was sooo good! I love this place and as long as I remember correctly, that's the place we went to for my B-Day last year... :)
We didn't take any desserts, because I made a chocolate cake for Bry at home, after Olivier went down for the night... :)

And that's how it turned out... :)

And here's the CLASSIC shots of Bry and the cake...

And blowing out the candles -Bry made me remove the pic (I thought he looked cute) :(-
I don't know what he wished for, but I hope it came true!
He's an amazing person, so he deserves it! :)

So, all in all, it was a REALLY good Birthday, just three of us...
maybe four if you count TV and watching American Idol (I'm kind of glad that Melinda went home, eventhough she had the strongest voice -- I didn't like the sound of it, though -- and Jordin is not that good of a singer, but Blake stayed and I like him, so it's all good) and Lost... :)

Today my friend Maureen and her baby girl Mimi came for a visit and we all decided to go swimming... :)
We were planning it FOREVER and finally today got to do it... :)

As you can tell Olivier's pretty HAPPY about the whole situation!
He really enjoyed playing in water and floating in the water...
He'll be a very good swimmer! :)

After the swimming I gave him sweet potatoes and he ate it ALL! Not only he likes it, but swimming made him SUPER hungry, which was awesome! :)
Messy, but awesome! :)

BEST MOTHER'S DAY EVER!

Thanks to Ollie, Bry and I woke up pretty early (6.30am). Too early to start getting ready for church and way to late to go back to sleep...
So what did I do? I opened my Mother's Day presents from Olivier, Bry and Mom!And if you didn't know (now you will), I LOVE presents and surprises! :)
A LOT!!! :)

So, I got these cool portable speakers from Ollie and now, I'm able to listen to my iPod wherever I am. It fits all different kinds of iPods, so we can also watch movies on Bry's iPod, which is SUPER cool! :)

I also got a book (A Mother's Influence by Margaret D. Nadauld), which I can't wait to read and some pretty cool cards...

So my day started GREAT!
Then it was time for me and Bry to get ready for church, which we did super fast! :)
At church Primary had a little program for Mother's Day (we sang hymn The Dearest Name with our Primary kids), which turned out really well and I enjoyed it.
Also all women got a DVD (The Testaments of One Fold and One Shepherd) as a special treat for Mother's Day...

After church we decided to open a package that we got from my parents for Bry's B-Day, my Nameday and Children's Day (we celebrate it on the first of June) and it was a blast! :)

Then we went for dinner to our friend's house and had some AMAZING kebabs, chicken spaghetti with salad and dessert (two different kinds of cakes with vanilla ice-cream)... It was SO good! :)

After that we came home and put our little boy to bed (which took us awhile -- walking outside was necessary) and now we're just relaxing...

It WAS a VERY SPECIAL, FIRST MOTHER'S DAY!!! :)

SWIMMING

So today, after my work, Bry let me go tanning for a little bit and then, when I was done, I decided to take Ollie swimming, nothing too BIG, but still...
I dressed him up in his new hat and swim diaper and handed to his daddy,
so I could take a picture! :)

Ollie was really excited at first, but when I wanted to put him in deeper water, he started being upset, so I figured the water was still too cold...

So we stayed on the stairs for a little while,
playing with the water and posing for the pictures... :)

I just can't wait when the water gets a little warmer and Ollie and I will go a little further in... Maybe next week, when Maureen and Mimi will come... :)

Friday, May 11, 2007

Lately, Bry and I have followed a different daily routine (since I'm not working out anymore -- my card has expired and Bry's out of school)...
As soon as we get up (usually around 7.30--8.00) we take the boy for a walk and go play tennis in the Southeast Park, which is a lot of fun...

Then we get home and have some breakfast, us -- smoothies, Ollie -- milk with rice cereal, after which he takes his nap...

After the nap I play with Ollie (that's the time when Bry prepares to his BAR exam) and then give him carrots or peas or any other veggie that we have for him...
Also, I figured it's better to just undress him, insted of changing him after... :)

Most of the time though Ollie's more interested in his feet and everything around him, but today he was opening his mouth for more peas AND carrots, so he must like it after all...
Still, after eating half of the box, he tends to get tired and wants his bottle, but it's a success that he's opening his mouth and spits less and less stuff out... :)

Then, depending on the day, Ollie plays for a little bit (or just falls asleep right away) and then takes his nap #2! :)
When he's napping, I prepare something to eat, check my blog and everybody elses, talk to my mom and my sister and try to relax (unless it's a cleaning day)! :)

While Ollie's still asleep (it's the end of his nap), I go tanning and swimming and Bry takes his break from studying!
And when I get home, I take Olivier for a walk (most of the time we go to see turtles -- obviously I'm obsessed with them) and Bry starts writing...

On the way there we saw a tree FULL of pinecones and I thought it was really cool... :)

When we're back from the walk it's time for a bath and bed for a boy and another smoothie for me and Bry...
We drink smoothies and relax by TV, read scriptures and talk...
I LOVE my life! :)

CARROT DAY

Today Olivier got to eat carrots for the first time… Let me just tell you that he’s NOT a BIG fan of them! :)

At first he was ALL into it…

Then, he started looking around, sticking his tongue out, so I was not able to give him any more…

And at the end, he looked like NOTHING happened,
my little innocent boy… :)

But I’ll try giving them to him more often so maybe he’ll change his mind…
Also, I’ll buy him green beans and sweet potatoes, so he can try them out… :)
Maybe they’ll be more successful! :)

On another note, Bry and I think – and we’re almost 100% sure – that Ollie started teething… His left bottom side is kind of flat and coarse, so I think his gums are opening…
That’s very exciting and worrying, because sometimes he screams so laud and the only thing we can give him is Motrin, but not too often, so most of the time he’s on his own… :(

Also he developed “DON’T WANT TO GO TO BED” thing, which is no fun! It takes him FOREVER to fall asleep and any movement (mine or Bry’s) ends up with the HUGE cry…
Oh, I LOVE TO BE A MOM! :)

A POST about EVERYTHING!!!

About watching a movie (“Pirates of the Caribbean – Dead Man’s Chest”, I think) on Bry’s iPod with uncle KJ on Sunday morning before the church (Stake Conference) – and LOVING IT!!! :)

About poo on my sweater that I discovered after Sunday dinner –
thanks to Tessie! :)
(On Friday I decided that it’s about time to hand wash some clothes and so I did. I put it nicely on the towel to dry out and forgot to pick it up, up until Sunday, when I discovered THIS)

About nice Sunday walk that we all had with Bry’s family…

Seeing and feeding baby turtles in the pond…

6 month check up with doctor Laughlin on Monday morning…
(I simply REFUSE to believe that my little boy is 6 months old as of Sunday!!!)
He’s a HUGE boy! He’s off the chart for the length (28 ¾ inches) and in 75 percentile for his weight (18lbs 7oz).
I have to report that he got shots again and is developing amazingly!
We’re soooo blessed!!! :)

So he just started eating vegetables today. We gave him peas as a starter and later – next week – we’re planning on giving him carrots and then a week later (or 4-5 days) some fruits.
The reason why we’re waiting and not giving him everything at the same time is that that way we can see if he has any allergies to the foods we’re giving him and on top of it we’ll introduce him to veggies first, since they’re not sweet like fruits, so he has bigger chance to like them…

So the post is also about eating PEAS for the FIRST time! :)

And also, since it’s about everything, I managed to go tanning for a little bit, because our swimming pool is open for the season! :)

And a very neat FHE that Bry prepared all by himself!

It was a great couple of days! :)

And about (that’s the latest) Ollie’s 101 degree fever that he just developed. I feel so BAD for him. I bet it’s after the shots, but if it goes higher (103), I’ll call the doctor, especially that Ollie’s never had a fever after the shots before or a FEVER period…
But he fell asleep now, so Bry and I can go back to sleep...
Hopefully he'll feel better fast!
